AWARD - NAC/MC/5043 - Treatment of Post-Consumer Mixed Papers and Cardboard

NORTH AYRSHIRE COUNCIL

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

North Ayrshire Council has recently awarded a contract titled "Treatment of Post-Consumer Mixed Papers and Cardboard" for services related to the management of kerbside paper and cardboard collections from approximately 64,000 households. This procurement process, categorised under 'services', was conducted through an open procedure and the successful supplier is Saica Natur. The contract involves an estimated 6,000 tonnes of material over an initial 12-month period, with potential extensions for an additional two years. The area of service delivery is centred in Shewalton, Irvine, and the contract was formally signed on 20th November 2020, following the procurement initiation in December 2020.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in waste management, recycling services, or related logistics. Suppliers with expertise in the treatment of recyclable materials or those who can demonstrate innovative approaches to improving recycling quality may find this contract particularly appealing. As the council aims to enhance the quality of collected materials and is open to pre-sorting, businesses capable of offering value-added services in material processing and customer engagement will be well-positioned to compete effectively for future tenders in this domain.
