Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is planning to establish a national collaborative framework for the provision of software and software support services. This procurement, titled "Software and Software Support Framework," is categorised under general public services in the IT industry and will take place in Glasgow, UK. The communication regarding this planned procurement is ongoing, with a Request for Information (RFI) process set to close at midday on 20 August 2021. Interested suppliers are encouraged to participate in the RFI to inform the development of the framework, following the expiration of the current NHS Software Value Added Reseller agreement in June 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in software development, support services, and related IT services. Companies capable of delivering commercial off-the-shelf software, software-as-a-service (SaaS), or providing consultancy on licensing and software asset management would be well-positioned to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and third-sector organisations may also benefit from participating, with support available through the Supplier Development Programme to enhance their chances of winning contracts within the public sector.
