Notice Title
Disabled Parents Project for East Lothian Council
Notice Description
As part of the Disabled Parents Employability Support Fund, East Lothian Works have received funding from the Scottish Government to identify and address barriers faced by unemployed disabled parents in entering and sustaining employment. This funding is part of the commitment within A Fairer Scotland for Disabled People - Employment Action Plan (2018). East Lothian Works are seeking to procure a service which will support unemployed disabled parents to progress towards and into employment (including paid work experience opportunities and key worker support) . Evidence which has emerged over the past year indicates the significant impact the COVID pandemic has had on the employment prospects of disabled parents. This investment will support new and innovative action to support disabled parents and help drive progress both towards halving the disability employment gap and helping achieve the ambitious child poverty targets. We require a specialist service which recognises the diverse employability needs and barriers of parents with disabilities
