Notice Title

MAPPING OF PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION ROUTES TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL TRAUMA TRAINING PROGRAMME

Notice Description

The Scottish Government's ambition is for a trauma-informed workforce and services across Scotland, supported by the National Trauma Training Programme (NTTP), led by NHS Education for Scotland (NES). The training resources provided through the NTTP are based on the Transforming Psychological Trauma: A Knowledge and Skills Framework for the Scottish workforce (2017). To help build consistency and increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of trauma and adversity across the workforce, it is crucial that opportunities are identified for where the NTTP trauma training resources can be further incorporated into existing professional qualification routes and/or Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) opportunities for all sectors of the workforce, with an immediate focus on the Children and Families workforce. This will also help to build sustainability of the training resources beyond the life of the National Trauma Training Programme. The Scottish Government wish to commission a mapping exercise of professional qualification routes and CPL opportunities across priority groups within the statutory and third sector Children and Families workforce, with a view to providing recommendations on where existing course content may be further enhanced in relation to an understanding of the impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACES).
