Proposed Disabled Adaptions & Building Enhancements at Bo'ness Library

Notice Description

1. Strip out redundant plant room services, including existing boilers (2no.) and conventional flues and replace with new gas fired boilers in new location with balanced flues, provide new external gas meter in lieu of existing internal gas meter, renew, review and replace existing electrical switchgear where necessary and finally alter existing layout as shown to create new plant room and space for new platform lift. 2. Form slappings in existing external and internal walling and to plant room to facilitate new layout incorporating platform lift with access through to existing ground floor. Form opening in floor to receive new platform lift. Alter first floor layout by removing kitchen space and toilets. 3. Install fire protection enhancements to existing walling and intermediate floor when necessary and erect new partitions to form new accessible toilet all as shown. 4. Refurbish existing staff room and provide new kitchen tea pre space including water supply to kitchen area as required (not presently provided). 5. Install new Low Rise Stairlift to provide wheelchair access to meeting rooms of upper area of first floor. 6. Reduce size of existing external planter by carefully removing existing sandstone blocks & cope and re-used to form smaller planter as shown. 7. Lay new setts/paviors to match existing, where planter reduced in size.
