The people function sits at the heart of the Scottish Government. We focus on wellbeing, Fair Work and shaping the culture of the SG. We are delivering an ambitious change programme and HR target operating model, with a focus on digital capability whilst supporting wellbeing and excellent customer service. This is an exciting time to join People Directorate. A newly elected government is setting out its ambitious agenda for Scotland and the corporate centre will support the workforce to deliver. The focus of this role is in three major work streams at the whole-organisation level.The post holder will manage the annual Civil Service People Survey and the Investors in People ( IiP) and Investors in Young People ( IiYP) accreditation programmes. As an experienced programme and project manager, you will also contribute to development of capability in PPM approaches and disciplines within the People Directorate as part of our transformation work. Specifically this will include supporting and tracking the development of a new 5 year corporate strategy for the Scottish Government. The strategy is being developed through a collaboration incorporating People, Place and Technology teams responding to a new organisational vision and values - "In the service of Scotland".The work is required in the first instance until end December 2021 and will be reviewed at that point.People SurveyThe delivery of the annual People Survey and follow up action in support of overall corporate change and improvement, and participation in Investors in People, is directed by the Deputy Director for Change and Operations with input from a number of People Directorate teams. The post holder will work with the lead Deputy Director to manage the People Survey project team and monitor the delivery of its milestones, support the delivery of its outcomes and facilitate evaluation in order to extract learning for future years. The post holder will also have the opportunity to input into our employee engagement strategy and to contribute to our transformation programme building future capability in programme and project management.Investors in PeopleSG has just achieved an improved accreditation result for 2021. This work is directed by the Deputy Director for Change and Operations with input from teams and colleagues across People Directorate. The role of the post holder will be to co-ordinate and oversee the follow up action for SG in alignment with the People Survey findings.Corporate StrategyWork has begun to develop a new 5 year Corporate Strategy integrating outcomes for People, Place and Technology and underpinning change to how we deliver corporate functions to support the organisation we need to be in the future. The role of the post holder will be to work with the teams who are developing the strategy and enable planning and reporting on relevant work streams required to deliver the strategy. In addition the post holder will support organisational engagement and communication that will shape and inform the details of the strategy.
