Lot Information
Lot 1
The Scottish Borders Council is keen to engage with the market to further explore the options for a new and sustainable model of a care home and/or associated service provision solution in Hawick, Scottish Borders. Our vision of a care village model for Hawick was described and agreed by Scottish Borders Council in 2020 following a review of residential care provision, bed modelling work which identified a shortfall of beds and a senior officers and members visit to The Netherlands Hodegweyk Dementia Village in 2019. The overall concept is to support healthy ageing, provide sustainable quality services, through a care village type estate which will reduce the need for reactive acute care and long-term in-patient and residential care. Ideally the new setting would be made up of individual homes, look like the outside world / be homely in order to improve the quality of experience for people with mild to severe dementia, frailty, complex needs and those accessing respite. The concept of the care model should support the principles of the Hodegweyk Care Village Model which is about unique needs, lifestyles and personal preferences for living, care and well-being for older people living mainly with dementia and frailty in small group home settings.. Please refer to the attached document for further information. Please submit your response by 17:00 on 11th May 2022
