Supply and Delivery of Telecare Equipment
Notice Description
As telecommunication companies move to newer digital technology which can support both broadband and telephone services, the public switched telephone network (PSTN) will be switched off. Whilst the deadline for this being completed is 2025, all telecommunication companies are already engaged in the process of upgrading their networks and many, if not all, already offer digital telephony packages. In order to comply with the digital technology, the Council require to purchase digital alarm units for installation in service users homes which will be carried out in a phased approach.

Call of by Direct Award via the Framework noted below: Scotland Excel Technology Enabled Care Framework Lot 1 Dispersed Alarm Units Period: 1 January 2019 - 31 December 2019 with options to extend until 31 December 2022 The Framework award criteria allows for call off by mini competition or direct award. A direct award can be applied if members determine that there is a supplier capable of meeting the member's requirement. Careium (formerly Doro Care) are the ranked 1 supplier on Lot 1 - Dispersed Alarm Units, based on quality and price. A call off by direct award will therefore provide best value to the Council for the purchases of the devices.
