Notice Description

The Council's Environmental Services has an ongoing statutory obligation in terms of air quality under the Environment Act 1995. The obligations on the Council include the monitoring and subsequent reporting of air quality to protect and enhance standards of air quality within the South Lanarkshire geographical area. The Council, upon successful application, receives external funding from the Local Air Quality Management Funding (LAQM) administered by the Scottish Government Air Quality Grant Scheme to fund obligated activities to develop measures to record, protect and enhance standards of air quality throughout the South Lanarkshire geographical area. The Council is looking to appoint a suitably qualified environmental consultant to carry out these essential services on their behalf. The following information is required to be completed on an annual basis: 1. Progress Report - Detailed review and provision of the annual progress report on air quality across South Lanarkshire for submission to the Scottish Government as specified in the Local Air Quality Management Technical Guidance TG16 and 18. 2 Quality Audit and Quality Control Services - Provision of one year quality control, audit, and data management for Hamilton and Uddingston air quality monitoring sites. 3. Local Site Operator Services - Provision of Local Site Operator (LSO) Services at eight automatic air quality monitoring stations. In addition to the above requirements, there maybe ad=hoc requirements that require to be carried out throughout the year such as an Air Quality and Climate Change Co-Benefits Evidence Base Study, Temporary Hyperlocal Sensor Network, etc.
