Consultancy for the University of Strathclyde Catering Service
Notice Description
The University of Strathclyde wishes to appoint a supplier to conduct a customer/market led review of its catering services in order to develop a new vision and strategy for catering that will fulfil the University's Vision for 2025 and beyond.

The aim of the review is to review and evaluate the catering provision across campus and identify future action that needs to be taken in order to provide a sector leading catering service that delivers operational excellence, an outstanding student experience; is financially and environmentally sustainable and exceeds the expectations of students, staff & visitors alike. The report should cover an operational review, market research, 5 year strategic plan and supporting investment plan. For further information, the University is looking for options appraisals of the following: - Currently, all of the catering services are delivered in house. -Could/should a mixed model of in-house & renting space to third parties be considered and what are the pros & cons of each? - Currently, all of the catering staff are directly employed by the University; consideration has previously been given to the creation of an SPV - What are the pros & cons of this? - Identify the current gap between the university and student expectations of university catering with particular reference to contribution to student experience/subsidised pricing levels versus commercial sustainability/ university budget expectations. - What is the cost/benefit of a subsidised service, and is it viable?
