Notice Description

South Lanarkshire Council require to maintain and repair the current crematorium equipment at South Lanarkshire Crematorium, this includes both operating equipment and monitoring software.

Lot 1

South Lanarkshire Council awarded a Negotiated Contract to Facultatieve Technologies Ltd for Crematorium Equipment Maintenance. The award of this contract under the Negotiated Tendering Procedure can be justified by the following reason: The services can be provided by only one suitable contractor because competition is absent for technical reasons and no alternative or substitute exists and the absence of competition is not the result of an artificial narrowing down of the parameters of the procurement. Facultatieve Technologies Ltd were selected, through a competitive process as the specialist contractor for the installation of the crematorium equipment at South Lanarkshire Crematorium. The installation included a complete package of both the hardware (cremators, filtration, monitoring equipment) as well as an integral package of operational and monitoring software. Due to the specialist nature of Facultatieve Technologies equipment, the integral links between the equipment and the monitoring software it was agreed that the contractor was best placed to continue to provide ongoing maintenance and repairs thereby mitigating as much risk as possible of failure of any part of the equipment which would lead to delays in service provision. The commencement date of this contract is 1st June 2022 and it will continue in force until 30th May 2026 with the option to extend for a further 24 months.
