Maintenance of Biomass Boilers & Supply & Delivery of Biomass Pellets
Notice Description
South Lanarkshire Council have an ongoing requirement for the supply and deliver of Wood Fuel (Biomass Pellets) for their Education establishments with biomass boilers. To date there is 49 establishments throughout the South Lanarkshire area with biomass boilers that require the supply of these pellets to ensure they operate efficiently and continue to maintain the agreed minimum temperature. In addition to the supply of the biomass pellets, the Council also requires a maintenance and emergency call out service for the maintenance of the Biomass boilers in the 49 properties which includes Primary Schools, Sheltered Housing complexes and other establishments. The contract requires the contractor to record and price any remedial work after each service visit and submit to the Contract Administrator. The contractor requires to have experience in the maintenance of Biomass Boilers. Operatives must have certified training on at least two of the boiler manufacturers and agree to carry out training, within one month if successful, on the other boilers located within Council properties. The contractor must have appropriate calibrated equipment and specialist diagnostic software/equipment required to carry out the maintenance works. By combining the supply and delivery of the biomass pellets along with the service and maintenance of the biomass boilers to a single contractor will provide the Council with a 'turnkey solution' where the supplier will take responsibility for the management of the biomass boilers and arrange for the supply and delivery of biomass pellets as and when required to ensure that the biomass boilers operate efficiently.
