PIN Advocacy Services in Aberdeenshire
Notice Description
The Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership have a future service requirement for a locally based service to provide independent advocacy in accordance with Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance principles, standards and codes of practice, and in support of its statutory responsibilities. Individual (one to one) and Collective (group) advocacy services are required.

The Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership have a future service requirement for a locally based service to provide independent advocacy in accordance with Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance principles, standards and codes of practice, and in support of its statutory responsibilities. Individual (one to one) and Collective (group) advocacy services are required that: - safeguard people who can be treated unfairly as a result of institutional and systemic barriers as well as prejudice and individual, social, and environmental circumstances that make them vulnerable - empower people who need a stronger voice by enabling them to express their own needs and make their own decisions - enable people to gain access to information, explore and understand their options, and to make their views and wishes known - speak up on behalf of people who are unable to do so for themselves The services are required for people with mental health issues; people with problematic drug and alcohol use; people with a learning disability; people with dementia; people with an acquired brain injury; and adult unpaid carers. Services will be provided to people in hospital, custodial and community settings; and may include activities in relation to large scale investigations; Adults with Incapacity and Adult Support and Protection. This is not a call for competition. As part of market testing activity the Council is seeking to engage with providers with experience of developing and delivering similar services for whom this would be an opportunity of interest in the event of a single lot sourcing strategy being approved that supports an open tender through PCS-T. Providers willing to engage further with the Council with no commitment to themselves or the Council are asked to submit a brief (one page) outline of their capacity and capability to respond to the overall service requirement by e-mail to claire.j.scott@aberdeenshire.gov.uk by 13 6 2022 Please note that details in this PIN are subject to being updated or changed in any final contract notice.
