Lot 1
Inverclyde Council operating as a Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) in conjunction with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHSGGC) require to commission a Distress Brief Intervention (DBI) service for adults aged 16 years and over who are ordinarily resident in Inverclyde. Emerging from the Scottish Government's work on Suicide Prevention and Mental Health strategies was the need to improve the response to people presenting in distress, DBI's are an innovative way of supporting people in distress. As a result of this work the Scottish Government established a pilot DBI programme. The initial pilot was over 53 months (November 2016 - March 2021) in four sites across Scotland:- - Aberdeen - Inverness - Scottish Borders - North and South Lanarkshire In support of the expansion of the DBI programme, the Scottish Government have established a DBI Associate Programme for other partners and/or regions of Scotland who wish to become part of the DBI Programme and embed the principles of DBI within the service. A DBI should offer time limited support to individuals in distress. DBI should not replace existing arrangements for anyone in distress who requires further medical treatment, it is an additional option for frontline staff. Support should be delivered in the following levels:- - Level 1 - DBI level 1 is provided by frontline staff and involves compassionate response, signposting and offering of referral to a DBI level 2 service. - Level 2 - DBI level 2 is provided by commissioned and trained third sector staff who contract the person within 24 hours of referral and provide compassionate community based problem solving support, wellness and distress management planning, supported connections and signposting for a period of up to 14 days. Inverclyde HSCP in conjunction with NHSGGC wish to commission a third sector provider with experience in developing and implementing the DBI approach and service to deliver this level 2 support across Inverclyde.
Renewal: 2 x 12 month extensions available
