Notice Description
The University of Highlands and Islands currently utilise a Student Placement Software system, however the contract for this has come to an end and we are looking to procure a new student placement software system. There are two areas involved in managing placements, the Nursing and Midwifery department and the Optometry department with the potential of more areas coming on board in the future. The Nursing and Midwifery Department program is hosted over two campuses, Inverness and the Western Isles while the Optometry department is based in Inverness. The BSc Nursing Degree is a three-year program and in total is 270-500 students per year, undertaking 2-4 placements per year, whereas the Optometry course is delivered over four years and has approximately 160 students during the four years, undertaking up to 2 placement per year. Both areas send their students on placements throughout the Highlands and Islands geographically. The Nursing and Midwifery Department send their students on placements from anything between a few weeks to a few months, whereas the Optometry Department can be anything from a week to a month. Prior to tender being published we are inviting interested parties to demonstrate their software solutions; the demonstration will be delivered the week of the 25th of September and will take place through the week. All demonstrations will be conducted via MS Teams. The allocation time for demonstrations will be 1.5 hrs with Q&A being 30 minutes. During the demo's we would like to be shown but not restricted to how intuitive and easy the solution is to browse, set up and configure the system, how are learning outcomes displayed, what the user interfaces look like. What are the placement coordinator, student (and if applicable the placement provider) views of the system and how are these configured, laid out and linked within the rest of the solution, how are placements setup and delivered, show reporting within the system, how is retention set, or students deleted from the system.
