Lot Information
Lot 1
Inverclyde Council is seeking the appointment of a consultant to deliver 3 town centre action plans for the town centres of Inverclyde; Greenock, Port Glasgow, and Gourock. Inverclyde is a mix of densely populated urban areas, coastal and rural villages, and isolated countryside over a relatively small area of 62 square miles. Greenock is the largest town in Inverclyde, with an estimated population of approximately 44,248. It is Inverclyde's main administrative centre, with the Council and the Health and Social Care Partnership based in the town centre, along with West College Scotland's Greenock Campus, the Beacon Arts Centre, and Greenock Ocean Terminal on the waterfront, and it is the main retail and commercial centre for Inverclyde. Greenock has an active waterfront, with marine uses operating out of Inchgreen, James Watt Dock, the East India and Victoria Harbours and a busy freight and cruise ship port at Greenock Ocean Terminal. Port Glasgow is the second largest town in Inverclyde, with a population of approximately 15,414. The historic town centre is a traditional, grid-iron pattern with small shop units and a modern town centre extension which create the Gallagher retail park which has modern format retail units. Gourock has an estimated population of 10,651. The town centre is a traditional layout with Kempock Street, home to a number of independent traders, which has been remodelled to ease traffic and parking congestion. The town centre has benefitted from investment in the train station and the outdoor swimming pool. Gourock has two ferry terminals providing links to locations in Argyll.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016
