Notice Description

The master patient index (MPI) of the GP IT System must be used as the master patient index for the Order Communications application. The MPI must be the only source for finding and creating patient records. The Order Communications application must support the following: CHI number as the primary unique patient identifier Where CHI is not held on the GP IT system it will invoke a search of the local SCI Store or national CHI; The onlyAn alternative primary key is the Home Country index number eg PDS England. Where CHI is not known use temporary number assigned by MPI; The ability to merge records either once the CHI is known or when duplicates are identified. The user must be able to select the patient demographic information from either patient to be included in the merged patient record. All activity associated with both patients must automatically be included in the merged record; Merged records must be forwarded to linked systems such as SCI Store and laboratory and radiology systems; The ability to unmerge records. When unmerging records, all activity associated before the merge must be automatically reattached to the appropriate patient. For any activity that has been completed post merge, the user must be able to select what activity is assigned to which patient; Support for CRN's as secondary identifiers and as a manual record filing number; Support use of the NASH Number/ID and anonymised NASH unique identifier.
