Summary of the contracting process

Angus Council has initiated a tender for the annual servicing and maintenance of gas heating installations for their housing properties, spanning from 2025 to 2031. The contract is divided into two lots: one covering the Angus area minus Forfar and Kirriemuir, and the other specifically for the Forfar and Kirriemuir regions. The contracts will initially run from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2027, with options for two additional two-year extensions, concluding on 31 March 2031. The deadline for tender submissions is 10 December 2024. This tender is at the active stage, employing a selective procurement method under a restricted procedure with submissions to be made electronically.

This tender presents significant opportunities for companies involved in the maintenance of gas heating systems, particularly those registered with the national gas safe register. The substantial contract value of £11 million and the potential for long-term engagement through extensions make it attractive for businesses looking to expand their portfolio within the public sector. Companies specialising in general public services within the Angus region, and those capable of meeting stringent quality and price criteria, are well-suited to compete. The requirement for community benefits further adds value, positioning the contract as advantageous for businesses committed to local economic and social contributions.
