Bespoke Singleton Residential Childcare Placement South Lanarkshire Council
Notice Description
South Lanarkshire Council are looking to notify the market of a potential future contract opportunity to deliver a singleton residential childcare placement within a 45-60 minute drive from the Cambuslang/Rutherglen area. The current childcare placement is nearing its end, so an alternative arrangement is required in a timely manner. The young person, male 15 years old, requires a singleton residential care placement with a highly differentiated curriculum for educational needs.The young person is currently supported and well known to Education, CAMHS and Social Work since early childhood. The young person has experienced trauma and adversity since an early age. Alongside this their care needs can be clearly summarised as follows: -Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and significant learning difficulties -Complex communication needs -Lack of flexibility of thinking and high need for structure and routine -Sensory sensitivities -Difficulties with regulation -Requirement for a highly differentiated curriculum, including sensory activities The council is considering three possible models for delivery of this contract and would be open to other suitable models. The three proposed models are: 1. Provider delivers accommodation and support in a flat within a group residential setting. 2. Provider delivers accommodation and support in a flat in a community setting. 3. SLC provides the accommodation and leases to provider with provider delivering the support element. The young person requires residential care services with an option for continuing care services.

The PIN notice is being published to explore potential options for a singleton placement for one of our young persons. An overview of the requirement along with a pre-market engagement questionnaire is included for suppliers to provide feedback on potential solutions. The procurement route will be decided based on the information provided by the suppliers in the questionnaire. It is requested that the completed questionnaires be sent to Georgie Howley by email (email address is on the questionnaire) no later than Tuesday 7th January 2025.. Please note there is no additional documentation available for this contract at the moment.
