Contract Summary
The University currently holds a range of maintenance contracts for specialist analytical equipment with several different suppliers. These contracts vary in length, renewal dates, and value, with some recently extended to ensure essential support for high-value and business-critical equipment remains in place. Some suppliers offer broad, general maintenance services across multiple equipment types, while others provide specialist support for specific equipment models. At present, contract management responsibilities cover high volumes of individual maintenance agreements, creating a significant administrative workload. To explore opportunities for improving efficiency and value for money, the university is considering options to consolidate these contracts. This could involve merging similar equipment maintenance services into grouped ‘lots’ under a single tender, or alternatively, establishing a comprehensive ‘one stop shop’ contract capable of covering all maintenance requirements.
