Summary of the contracting process

South Lanarkshire Council has initiated a public procurement process to award a contract for the provision of counselling, support, and advice services, specifically targeting secondary school pupils (S1 to S6) across various schools. The process falls under the General public services category and is located in Hamilton, Scotland (UKM95). The procurement utilised the open procedure method, specifically a direct award under the Educational Services Procured Services Arrangement (PSA), and the process is currently at the award stage with a contract value of £1,831,134. The contract will span from 14 August 2024 to 13 August 2026, with an option for a one-year extension, contingent upon performance and available funding.

This tender offers a valuable opportunity for businesses involved in counselling and educational support services, with particular emphasis on those that can cater to the specific needs of school students. It is an attractive prospect for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) like Teentalk Scotland, which was awarded the contract. The PSA framework encourages ongoing competition by allowing new providers to join, presenting potential for industry growth and innovation. Businesses equipped with expertise in educational services, especially in psychological support, and those looking to expand their client base in the public sector are well-positioned to benefit from participating in this framework.
