SOUTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

South Lanarkshire Council, located at Council Headquarters, Almada Street, Hamilton, recently completed a tender under the title "Negotiated Contract for the Provision of Domestic Abuse Services." The procurement, associated with the general public services industry category, involves servicing the UKM95 region. The process has reached the contract award stage, with the contract signed on 14th July 2025. This one-year contract, commencing on 1st January 2025 with a possible extension, was conducted using a limited procurement method due to the absence of competition for technical reasons, as described in the Council's Standing Orders and Scottish regulations.

This tender opens opportunities for businesses in the sector of domestic abuse and refuge services, particularly those with expertise in delivering specialised support for women, children, and young people. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) similar to Women's Aid South Lanarkshire and East Renfrewshire, the awarded supplier, may find such contracts beneficial for expansion and establishing a robust presence in public service provision. The unique nature of the services required, along with the specified eligibility criteria, suggests that businesses with specialised capabilities and experience in this domain would be well-positioned to compete in future similar procurements.
