Provision of Taxi Services re The Beacon Centre, Arbroath

ANGUS COUNCIL

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

Angus Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement exercise to establish a list of taxi service providers for The Beacon Centre in Arbroath. This initiative, classified under the services category, is not a formal procurement but aims to identify potential providers whom The Beacon Centre can contact as and when services are required. The procurement process is marked as a planned effort, and interested taxi service providers are urged to register their interest by 28th July 2025. The service will cover Arbroath and the wider Angus region, offering an opportunity for local service providers to connect with a government contract opportunity aimed at supporting community wellbeing services.

This tender provides significant opportunities for local taxi firms, especially those equipped with wheelchair-accessible vehicles, to enhance their business by becoming part of a preferred service provider list for Angus Council. The potential demand will arise from the transportation needs of individuals accessing support services at The Beacon Centre, particularly for those with mobility challenges or those requiring transport to the Carseview Centre, Dundee. Suitable businesses could expand their client base and gain exposure to other council opportunities. The Council will directly handle payments through an invoiced process, and participating taxi drivers will be offered basic mental health and suicide prevention training, ensuring a responsible and community-focused service approach.
