Companies with a demonstrable track record in delivering similar goods, proficient in handling the logistics of distributing chemicals to specified locations, can leverage this contract to grow their business. Businesses with the necessary economic robustness, as evidenced by a minimum yearly turnover of £40,000 over the past two years, appropriate insurance levels, and a track record of relevant technical capacity, will find themselves well-suited to compete for this tender. The provision of tailored goods with due consideration to the limited storage capacities on vessels presents a unique challenge and opportunity for specialised suppliers.

Notice Description

Lot Information

High Concentration Marine Cleaning Chemicals

The Scottish Ministers invites tenders for the supply and delivery of all marine chemicals and substances to our five vessels. The Scottish Ministers own and operate three patrol vessels and two survey vessels that operate in the waters around and beyond Scotland. As part of the day-to-day operation of the vessels, a variety of chemicals are used across each department onboard for cleaning and degreasing. The Scottish Ministers have a communal fleet store in Aberdeen. It is expected that deliveries will be made to the fleet store in a timely manner, to be forwarded to each of the designated vessel by our own stores team. The fleet store does not have capacity for storing an annual supply of chemicals for all five vessels, thus this will be divided into smaller partial requests. In addition to this, the supplier shall supply the chemicals in container sizes as close as reasonably practicable to those specified, taking into account the limited storage capacity on each vessel and the requirement to distribute the total quantity across multiple vessels as part of the delivery arrangement.
