Award of Aberdeenshire Council - Insurance Broker Services
Notice Description
The Authority seeks a competent broker service in order to support with the placement of policies and assistance with any cover related queries related to such, over the next 4 years. This will include but is not limited to the following: providing advice in respect of available options, general queries on insurance cover, attendance at meetings with the Insurer at the Authority's request and with reasonable notice, providing general market updates and alerting the Authority to any changes in Insurer terms. The aim of this is to achieve tangible insurance savings in a collaborative manner, with the broker assisting the Authority as required. The scope of the contract will include advice and risk management and could also extend to any Associated Bodies, including Arm's Length External Bodies (ALEOS), of the Authority.The main insurance policies currently run through to 31st March 2027 with the possibility of an extension to 31st March 2028. Assistance would therefore be required with running the procurement exercise for placement of the main policies ahead of expiry of the present contract.The Authority will determine what extensions they will agree to under the current contract.Policies outwith the main insurance policies are Crime, Fine Arts and School Journey. These policies expire on 31st March 2026. The Broker would be expected to assist with the placement of such policies ahead of the renewal date of 1st April 2026. The requirement for a crime policy is presently under review and may not be required.The estimated contract value includes the broker fee and total policy value.The broker fee and associated commission is estimated not to exceed 371,000 gbp for the duration of the contract. Subject to a broker being required to place Authority main policies.The total estimated policy value where placement is required by the broker is circa 8,000,000 gbp for the duration of the contract.The procurement will be undertaken via Public Contracts Scotland (PCS).
