Fife Council requires the use of a fleet of vehicles and drivers in order to provide various services such as waste management, Building Services trades, meals on wheels and pool vehicles. A Vehicle Operator Licence is required to run this fleet and this Licence requires Fife Council to ensure that all drivers are permitted to drive the correct category of vehicles and receive the correct training. Statutory guidance states that driving licence checks should be carried out for all fleet drivers to confirm: A valid driving licence is held The correct category of vehicles is permitted Any driving licence endorsements Driving licence checks also: Ensure correct training is delivered timeously Monitor CPC qualifications Monitor and manage renewal of tachograph records Monitor medical requirements
