An opportunity for Edinburgh based businesses to meet and speak directly with business facing Council teams and selected partners.

You'll be surprised at the range of ways the Council supports Edinburgh's businesses to help them succeed. Our Meet the Council event will make it easier for you to speak to our teams on a wide range of topics such as: - answers to practical questions about business rates, - advice about growing your business, whether that's finding a premise to highlighting business funding - what licenses you may need for new businesses - advice about apprentice schemes - how you can sell your services to the council and other public sector organisations. Join us at the Assembly Rooms on 3rd February for this great opportunity to meet and chat with business facing teams at The City of Edinburgh Council and some of our partner organisations. This in-person event is your chance to ask questions, share your thoughts, and learn more about how the council works for, and with, businesses to make our city a better place. Don't miss out on this unique chance to connect directly with your local business support services! Which Council teams will be there? Business Gateway; Forever Edinburgh; Visitor Levy; Edinburgh Employer Recruitment Incentive; Trading Standards; Procurement; Licensing; Planning; Scientific Services; Commercial Property; Fair Work; Environmental Health; Cultural Partnerships, Events and Film; Non-Domestic Rates; Edinburgh Guarantee; Building Standards; Edinburgh Convention Bureau; Climate. Which partners will be there? Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network, Zero Waste Scotland, Adaption Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, FSB, Forth Green Freeport, DSL Finance, Capital City Partnership, Supplier Development Programme Bonus Procurement Session At 11am there will be a face-to-face session in a side room from the Council's Procurement team. Their presentation "What we buy and what influences our approach" aims to help guide businesses through the procurement process and provide helpful hints and tips. The Supplier Development Programme (SDP) will also be sharing their top tips for tendering in "Getting Tender Ready". You can sign up for the presentation when you arrive at the event but if you can't make it, there will be an online option available at a later date. Our partners will also bring their expertise and guidance as to how they can support from being recognised as a trusted trade service through the Edinburgh Trusted Traders Scheme through discovering about social enterprises to business support services from Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses.
