Notice Description
The Child Neurodevelopmental (ND) Pathway is a time limited pilot in the Lochside school cluster in Aberdeen City. It aims to improve support for children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs through earlier identification, a neuro affirming strengths based approach, and joined up working across health, education, early years and the third sector. Support will be based on need, without waiting for diagnosis, while reducing pressure on specialist services for diagnosis. The pathway will focus on pre-school to Primary 1 learners, with support based on need rather than diagnosis and delivered through a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach. It will be developed through multi-agency working and co-production with children, young people and families.

Aberdeen City Council are seeking third sector partners for the 12 month Child Neurodevelopmental (ND) Pathway pilot scheme. The Child Neurodevelopmental (ND) Pathway is a time limited pilot in the Lochside school cluster in Aberdeen City. It aims to improve support for children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs through earlier identification, a neuro affirming strengths based approach, and joined up working across health, education, early years and the third sector. Support will be based on need, without waiting for diagnosis, while reducing pressure on specialist services for diagnosis. The pathway will focus on pre-school to Primary 1 learners, with support based on need rather than diagnosis and delivered through a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach. It will be developed through multi-agency working and co-production with children, young people and families.. The pilot will be for a 12 month period. Potential applicants should complete the attached questionnaire to Jennifer Campbell by 17 July 2026. We will aim to notify applicants of the outcome by 4 August 2026.
