Summary of the contracting process

Renfrewshire Council is actively seeking to contract a school-based counselling service aimed at bolstering the mental health and emotional resilience of children and young people across two primary schools and one secondary school within Paisley, UKM83. The process is currently at the tender stage with an open procurement method, valued at GBP 52,143.55. Interested parties must submit their bids electronically by 31st August 2026. This service, commencing on 18th October 2026 and spanning a duration of 270 days, entails intensive one-on-one therapy, drop-in sessions, group work, and consultations, designed to cater to the needs of the schools’ communities.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for counselling firms, particularly those specialised in children's mental health services, to expand their clientele and strengthen their portfolio in the public sector. Businesses with seasoned professional counsellors, accredited by reputable bodies such as COSCA or BACP, and those equipped to meet the Council’s strict ethical and operational standards, will find themselves well-positioned to compete. The contract also includes community benefits and mandates compliance with stringent cyber security protocols, pointing towards opportunities for sustainable partnerships with the local authority.
