The Isle of Anglesey County Council is currently reviewing its options with regard to end market provision of PAS100 compliant Soil Improver produced from kerbside collected green garden waste processed on Anglesey.Currently around 5000 tonnes of 20mm screened Soil Improver is produced which meets PAS100 standard and is then spread to agricultural land by an external contractor.The Council has been refining its processing procedures over several months and is now also in a position to produce a higher quality Soil Improver which as been screened to 10mm.Following the production of the higher quality 10mm screened Soil Improver, the Council would now like to explore new commercial markets with potential contractors to maximise its potential.The higher quality Soil Improver is likely to be of interest to commercial organisations who can further market the material and find other outlets for its use e.g. bagging for domestic/commercial landscaping use.Interested commercial organisations should contact Katie Scowcroft by email katiescowcroft@ynysmon.llyw.cymru to express an interest and receive further information. EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. Our scope of the works includes 15 viaducts, 6.9km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 81 bridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation. The prospective scheme at Cottam Parkway Station, is for a new two platform station with footbridge & VLB lifts on the Preston - Blackpool line (PBN) between 2m 77ch and 3m and 33ch. Platform lengths suitable for 8 car operation. The scope of works include two platforms, one station building circa 200m^2, one footbridge (700 series, open) with one lifts and stairs per platform, the lifts will be a Serapid VLB lift used as an evacuation lift, OLE modifications, East and west car park banks, track renewal and new track drainage, the current station design includes booking office, booking hall, community space, parking for 300 cars, cycle storage and possible bus interchange. The funder is Lancashire County Council who are funding the scheme via the Transforming Cities programme. The ES4 Approval in Principle design is complete and planning permission has been granted based on previous ES3 design, however material change is needed based on the current ES4 design.
