Kier Transportation are looking to engage experienced and qualified contractors to carry out works pertaining to the construction of the Scheme 1 and 2 Skirsgill Compound on the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine scheme. The A66 upgrade will see single-lane sections of the 80km stretch between the M6 and the A1 made into dual carriageway, while key junctions will be improved. The A66 project is to be delivered in collaboration by three Tier 1 contractors, Balfour Beatty, Kier and Keltbray. Crescent Purchasing Consortium intend to create an innovative framework for the Education and Wider Public Sectors that will allow customers to efficiently appoint a contractor to deliver capital works and construction projects. The exact design, scope and coverage of the resulting framework is still being refined and will be largely informed by pre-market engagement with key stakeholders and negotiations with the market but it is likely to offer education and public sector bodies clear improvements to alternative routes to market in terms of flexibility, supplier quality, cost-effectiveness and ease of use. This framework is to provide members with an improved Security Systems offering and should include range of goods, services, and works including (but not limited to): Access Control Systems; CCTV Systems; Intruder Alarm Systems; Reactive Maintenance; Consultancy Services; supply products which facilitate Martyn's Law such as emergency alerting and visual communication. CPC's current Temporary and Permanent Staffing framework will expire on 17/07/2026 and as a result a new framework will be tendered for this requirement. Information on the current agreement can be found at: https://www.thecpc.ac.uk/services/frameworks/temporary-and-permanent-staffing-1 This framework consists of a variety of recruitment agencies that provide CPC members, primarily those in the education sector but also including the wider public sector via Crescent Services Limited, with temporary and permanent staffing via a variety of Lots including all geographical areas, neutral vendor, managed service (previously known as managed vendor) and the option of a vendor management system. It is not known yet what the Lotting structure will look like on the new framework, nor whether the framework will be an Open Framework or not. The current number of suppliers on the agreement is 22, again this is to be decided in the new framework. Pre-market engagement will begin approximately at the end of 2025, with the hopes of going out to tender early in 2026, ready for the current agreements expiry in July 2026. We would like as many suppliers as possible in the industry to assist us in this pre-market engagement to enable us to continue to provide a solution that works for our members, given the high utilisation of this framework and the ongoing issue in education of filling roles.
