Currently in the planning stage, this tender falls under the health services industry category (CPV code 85100000). Key activities will take place in the South East region of the United Kingdom, with a market engagement event scheduled for 28 September 2017. Interested participants must submit a questionnaire by 21 September 2017 to express their intent and provide feedback, as this process is aimed at gauging market interest and improving service specification ahead of a potential tender exercise beginning on 1 April 2018, with a possible extension of two additional years.

Providers of clinically effective care, especially those experienced in handling chronic conditions and post-surgical wound care, would be particularly well-suited to compete for the upcoming contract. Notice Title

Request for Information - Leg Ulcer AQP

Notice Description

Request for Information - Commissioners within Crawley CCG and Horsham and Mid-Sussex CCG are considering the procurement of a Leg Ulcer service under an AQP contract. The aim of the service is to improve the quality of life for people with or at risk of recurrence of leg ulcers through the delivery of clinically effective care and advice and reduce the risk of recurrence. The Leg Ulcer management and healing service will include the assessment, treatment and follow up for patients with Leg Ulcers of venous, arterial and mixed aetiology. The service is aimed at adults who have been referred with a current leg ulcer for assessment, treatment and advice including after care to minimise recurrence, as long as they meet the referral criteria and do not have contra-indications. The service will also see and treat patients with post-surgical wounds from Horsham and Mid Sussex practices that have not healed after four weeks. It is anticipated that the service would be offered for tender under a standard NHS AQP contract for a period of 3 years commencing on the 1st April 2018 with option to extend for a maximum of a further two years. The purpose of this RFI is to gauge market interest and feedback via the RFI response form for the provision of Leg Ulcer Services and provide the CCG with valuable information to help update and improve the current service specification. A market engagement event will be held on 28 September from 12.00 to 14.00 at the CCG offices at Crawley Hospital. Please confirm your attendance to the above email address by 21 September. Please return the questionnaire by 21 September 2017 to HSCCG.ContactUs-PlannedCare@nhs.net. If you would like to discuss any aspects of the requirements before 28 September, please call 01293 600 300 Ext 3996 - or send an email to the above address suggesting a date/time for a telephone conversation. This is a process designed to help the Commissioners form a view of the best way to commission the service and is not the beginning of a tender exercise. A further tender advertisement will be issued at the appropriate time as/if required. You will not be disadvantaged in any subsequent tender process if you choose not to respond to this RFI but the Commissioners will use the level of response received as part of the supporting evidence for any next steps taken. The Commissioners wish to understand your views at this early stage, so you are encouraged to respond and complete the RFI form as fully as you can.
