Summary of the contracting process

The Islington Council has awarded a contract for the "One to One (1:1) Support, Day Opportunities and Activities Framework for People with Disabilities." This initiative aims to formalise relationships with high-quality service providers for individuals with disabilities, ensuring services are flexible, personalised, and locally accessible, particularly within Islington. The contract, valued at £2,000,000, commenced on 6th July 2020 and will run until 5th July 2022. This procurement process was conducted via an open procedure, which concluded on 29th January 2020, with the award published on 25th August 2020.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the health and social care sector, especially those specialised in providing support services for individuals with disabilities. Smaller enterprises and voluntary community sector entities (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to engage, as the framework is designed to enhance service offerings, inspire innovation, and ensure value for money. Companies with a focus on personalised and local service delivery, as well as those with a capacity to develop tailored activities and support, would be well-positioned to compete for these services.

Notice Title

Award of One to One (1:1) Support, Day Opportunities and Activities Framework for People with Disabilities

Notice Description

One to one (1:1) support, day opportunities and activities are important parts of our local offer for people with disabilities. We want to formalise our relationships with providers of these services who are committed to delivering high quality, flexible and personalised services to meet identified local needs. Establishing a framework agreement from which to purchase these services is an opportunity to increase the range of services available for people to choose from and to drive innovation, value for money and an increased focus on outcomes. This framework agreement is intended to develop a wider range of local services. Providers will therefore ensure, where applicable, that the service has activity bases in Islington or within a suitable distance to minimise transport time and transport costs.
