Notice Description

Public Health England (PHE) is an executive agency of the Department of Health (DH). The role/function of PHE is to protect and improve the nation's health. As part of the reconfiguration of the agency, PHE has initiated a number of Programmes to instigate and realise business Transformation. The Science Hub Programme is 1 major change management programme being managed on behalf of PHE. There are many projects and work streams to the programme. The principle objective of the programme is the creation of a national public health science hub and headquarters facility. A Corporate Approved Inspector or Local Authority Building Control Service is required to help the PHE Science Hub Programme and its Partners achieve Building Regulations approval on its various construction projects. Corporate Approved Inspector (CAI) or Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Services for the whole construction process within the PHE Science Hub Programme. The Programme consists of a mix of refurbishment to existing structures, new buildings and infrastructure. PHE Science Hub Programme, in terms of its build programme, aims to ensure the health and safety of building users, promote energy efficiency, facilitate sustainable development and contribute to meeting the access needs of disabled people. To support this, Building Regulations provide a framework of functional requirements within which buildings must be designed and constructed. The CAI or LABC will be required from October 2017 for the duration of construction works which is anticipated to finish October 2022. Interested Suppliers should reserve the 7.6.2017 to attend a bidders day which will take place in Harlow, Essex. Please get in touch for further details and to confirm attendance. Suppliers should note that a Confidentiality Disclosure Agreement (CDA) will be need to be signed and completed before attending the bidders day. PHE Science Hub anticipates an Open Procedure will be conducted for this opportunity, however PHE reserves the right to conduct a Restricted Procedure or another EU compliant procedure in order to satisfy the requirement, security and other interests of PHE.
