Notice Description

DEFRA has awarded a task to Deloitte under Lot 2 of the DEFRA Management Consultancy Call off contract. The task is to explore the options and feasibility of bringing the procurement and analysis of Earth Observation satellite surveillance data in house. Satellite Earth Observation data can provide a means for the UK Overseas Territories (UKOTs) to detect illegal fishing in their waters. The images need to be correlated with Automatic Identification System (AIS) data and other intelligence to be effective but satellite imagery is proving to be a continually improving tool for maritime surveillance.
