Summary of the contracting process

Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Limited is currently in the planning stage for a tender titled "SMA site set up procurement category". This procurement falls under the modular furniture industry category and is set to take place in the United Kingdom. The budget allocated for this project spans several financial years, amounting to £3,500,000, with contract works expected to start on 19th April 2021 and run until 31st December 2021. The procurement process will utilise an open procedure, with the period for registering interest closing on 12th March 2021 at noon and subsequent tenders being issued shortly thereafter.

This procurement opportunity presents a significant avenue for growth, particularly for businesses specialising in temporary accommodation solutions, including modular and portable building providers. Companies that hold the requisite certifications, such as Constructionline Gold or Achilles BC Level 4, are particularly well-suited to compete. The project will require suppliers with the capacity to deliver nationally, and successful bidders will join a collaborative supplier network integral to the SMP Alliance, which includes key industry players. This initiative fosters a highly integrated working environment, offering substantial potential for establishing long-term business relationships within the supply chain.
