Summary of the contracting process

Essex County Council is issuing the "Essex Construction Framework 2" tender, aimed at establishing a four-year framework agreement primarily for construction works, especially in relation to the county's capital programme for expanding school places, valued at £35m-£50m per annum. The procurement is currently in the Award stage, with a total estimated value of £400 million. Key dates include the tender period closing on February 28, 2020, and the contract period spanning from March 1, 2020, to February 29, 2024. The procurement method utilised for this process is the restricted procedure.

This framework presents significant growth opportunities for businesses within the construction sector, particularly those specialising in educational facilities and public construction projects. Companies that are well-suited to compete include large-scale construction firms and subcontractors with expertise in both design and building works. The framework will also be available to other contracting authorities, expanding potential collaboration avenues for interested suppliers.
