Summary of the contracting process

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency is initiating a procurement process for a droplet reader compatible with existing droplet digital PCR hardware, specifically involving a Bio-Rad automated droplet generator and a C-1000 Touch thermal cycler. This tender is currently in the planning stage, with a deadline for expressing interest set for 11th October 2019. The procurement is categorised under Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) equipment in the East of England, United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in laboratory equipment and biotechnology solutions. Businesses with expertise in the development of PCR technologies and related analytical equipment would be particularly well-positioned to compete, as the required droplet reader must enable two-colour analysis and facilitate absolute quantification using Bio-Rad QuantaSoft software. Interested suppliers should contact the buyer, Catherine Norris, directly to express their interest.

Notice Title

Droplet reader to work with existing droplet digital PCR hardware

Notice Description

We wish to purchase a droplet reader to work with existing droplet digital PCR hardware: a Bio-Rad automated droplet generator and a Bio-Rad C-1000 Touch thermal cycler. The droplet reader is needed to analyse individual droplets which have undergone PCR amplification. The droplet reader must use a two-colour system of analysis detecting FAM, VIC, HEX and EvaGreen fluorescent dyes. The data provided by the reader should be suitable for absolute quantification analysis of target DNA by Bio-Rad QuantaSoft software. If you wish to express an interest in supplying exactly this requirement to the National Institute of Biological Standards and Control, please email the contact on this notice by Friday 11th October 2019.
