Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process under consideration is titled "National Framework for Major Works 2020 (£5m+) - AWARD" and is managed by Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. This framework agreement encompasses various construction projects within the UK, with a minimum contract value of £5,000,000. It includes works such as new builds, extensions, and refurbishments across multiple sectors. The contract period commenced on 12 April 2020 and is set to conclude on 11 April 2026, with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions. The procurement was conducted using the open procedure, and this framework will facilitate participation from public sector bodies including charities throughout the UK.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for large construction firms capable of handling substantial projects, given the minimum value of £5 million per contract. Businesses specialising in various construction-related services, including general contracting, architectural and engineering services, and those focusing on infrastructure and multi-complex builds, would find this framework particularly relevant. With a structured approach and a defined contract duration, engaged firms can plan for future projects and strategically position themselves to secure governmental contracts.
