Summary of the contracting process

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking providers for the "DPS for Short Breaks and Childcare Services for Disabled Children and Young People and their Parents/Carers" through a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). The tender is classified under health and social work services (CPV code: 85000000) and is located in the East Midlands, United Kingdom. The tender period is set to end on 8th February 2018, with the associated contract commencing on 1st April 2018 and running until 31st March 2028. This procurement method aims to create flexibility and inclusivity for providers throughout its operation.

This opportunity can significantly benefit small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that provide services for disabled children and young people. Companies that specialise in individual support, holiday activities, and care for those with complex health needs would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The DPS structure allows these businesses to submit applications at any time, enhancing their chances of engaging with the council's requirements as they arise.

Notice Title

DPS for Short Breaks and Childcare Services for Disabled Children and Young People and their Parents/Carers

Notice Description

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking to establish a provider list, using a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), of organisations able to provide Short Breaks and Childcare Services for Disabled Children and Young People and their Parents/Carers. See service specification for further details. By using a DPS the Council wants to ensure that all qualified Providers have the opportunity to supply their services when they want to. Traditional approaches, which typically are opened every four years, can be inflexible and can "lock out" potential providers in-between tenders. Under a DPS Providers will be able to submit their application at any point in time whilst the list is in operation and these applications will be evaluated periodically. The Provider list will target Providers that are able to provide the following; * Individual Support * Holiday, Play and Community Based Activities * Children and young people with complex health needs * Children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions * Children and young people aged 11+ with moving and handling needs that will require equipment and adaptations * Young people 14+ * Children and young people where challenging behaviour is associated with other impairments (e.g. severe learning disability)
