The new SWIMS system will build on the structure and functions of the existing system to ensure that users are able to use the system with ease and record the impacts to their services in a consistent way. The new system will also facilitate the use of data gathered as an evidence base to support business cases for increasing resilience. This will enable organisations to assess the effectiveness of their response and recovery and improve planning for future severe weather events.
