Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence is seeking to procure services for the "Provision of Medical Officer Appraiser Training" as part of an open procurement process. This initiative is classified under the Adult and Other Education Services industry and aims to train up to 40 medical appraisers annually. The tender period will conclude on 17th December 2021, with contract performance expected to commence on 1st April 2022 and run through to 31st March 2025. Training venues will primarily be located in the West Midlands and London, with specific arrangements to be discussed prior to finalising course dates.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in educational and training services, particularly those focused on staff and health training. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are well-positioned to compete, especially if they have the capacity to deliver training courses in a face-to-face setting, with the flexibility to offer virtual options as needed. Successful engagement in this contract could pave the way for further collaborations within the public sector education landscape.
