Notice Title

Soft Market Testing & Market Engagement - Child Vision Screening

Notice Description

The primary aim of the Child Vision Screening Programme is to identify children aged 4 to 5 years with impaired sight, enabling timely intervention. Screening for reduced vision in children aged 4 to 5 years is primarily undertaken to detect children with amblyopia, a form of abnormal vision system development. The most common predisposing conditions are strabismus (squint) and refractive error (focusing problems requiring glasses). The Council are undertaking soft market testing and market engagement for Child Vision Screening because: * We are looking to you to help inform the development of the services commissioned in Sunderland to improve outcomes for local people. * As a service provider, you have important insights into what will or won't work in service delivery. This is your opportunity to influence the development of the specification.
