Summary of the contracting process

The NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit recently completed a tender titled "CHIS Winter Flu and COVID Programme Licenses." This procurement process falls under the goods category, specifically focusing on software package and information systems. The tender was part of a broader initiative to enhance the Immunisation Management Services in the South East and South West regions of the United Kingdom. The procurement method utilised was selective, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement, with the contract period commencing on 16th September 2020 and concluding on 15th September 2021. Key details include the tender's end date on 17th August 2020 and a contract value of £75,306, which has been awarded to Boxxe Limited.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those in the software and services sector. Companies that specialise in software licenses and have the capacity to provide support for large-scale health initiatives, such as contact centre operations, would be well-positioned to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are especially encouraged to engage, given the suitability noted in the procurement criteria. By participating in such contracts, businesses can expand their reach and contribute to vital public health programmes.
