Notice Description

The Council is seeking to Commission a service to support deafblind service users through the provision of a Communicator Guide service. The service will provide trained Communicator Guide individuals who will provide communication and practical support to individuals in their everyday life. The role of a Communicator Guide will be to offer communication support, guiding skills and practical help, such as shopping, dealing with correspondence and setting up medical appointments. They will be highly skilled individuals, trained to be the eyes and ears of a deafblind person. They will relay information, facilitate communication with others and ensure service users are able to get about safely; they will be neutral, alert and give information, not advice, without prior selection or processing. In conjunction with Solihull Community Housing, we have joined together to bring you a collaborative E-Tendering portal. CSW-JETS enables us to advertise our opportunities across all authorities through the same system. This means that there is a single point of contact for procurement in the sub-region so you only have to register once to receive notifications for all authorities. Registering on the portal will make it easier for local suppliers to find, respond to and be alerted to tender opportunities. Registration is free, and takes just a few minutes.
