Notice Description

The Department for Transport (DfT) invites proposals for a research requirement "Understanding the Socio-Economic and Structural Factors Influencing Piracy in the Gulf of Guinea". This research will address the knowledge gaps in the understanding of the socio-economic and structural factors influencing piracy in the Gulf of Guinea. The scope of the research will be a phased approach: the first will be a literature review, to look at existing data and identify knowledge gaps on the socio-economic and structural factors influencing piracy in the Gulf of Guinea. The second will be a data analysis report considering the socio-economic variables to piracy. The third phase will be video interviews with locally-engaged stakeholders, travel restrictions and safety protocol prohibit the conduct of physical interviews due to COVID-19.
