Summary of the contracting process

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is conducting a procurement process to appoint an Architect for the ULHT Trust Wide Roofing Infrastructure Programme. This project, classified under architectural, construction, engineering, and inspection services, is valued at £1.8 million and aims to enhance roofing across multiple sites in the East Midlands, UK. The contract was awarded on 16th September 2020, following a selective procurement method and a restricted procedure. The contract period is set to commence from 17th September 2020 and will conclude by 31st March 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for architectural firms, particularly those with experience in roofing infrastructure projects. As the project addresses critical repairs and assessments of aging roofing systems, businesses specialising in construction and engineering services will find this a suitable match for their capabilities. Firms that can demonstrate expertise in high-level cost analysis and project coordination alongside other consultants will be well-positioned to engage in future work stemming from this initiative.

Notice Title

Architectural Services (including lead consultant) - ULHT Trust Wide Roofing Infrastructure Programme

Notice Description

Introduction and Background The Authority seeks to appoint an Architect to work alongside the QS and other consultants to provide high level costs of the proposed option. This will allow the costings to be submitted into the OBC to be presented to the Trust Board and also to full completion of the scheme to support the delivery of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Wide Roofing Infrastructure Programme. As part of the current capital programme ULHT are looking to invest 1.8m in roofing repairs across our 3 sites. The project is to be completed by the 31st March 2021. Many of the roof areas are known to have coverings that are beyond their serviceable life, some are known to leak, but there may also be defects of which the Authority is not currently aware. The estate is extensive in nature and there are many variations of pitched and flat roof type across the identified sites. The overall aim of the project will be to undertake such building repair or replacement works that are required to ensure the correct, weather tight performance.
