Summary of the contracting process

Sheffield City Council is conducting a procurement process for the re-opening of the Mental Health Independence and Support Framework, focusing on health and social work services. The procurement invitation centres on a market engagement event to be held virtually on Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 10.00 am to 11.30 am via Microsoft Teams. Interested parties must notify the council via email or the YORtender/EU Supply e-tendering platform. The overall framework will be under two categories: Lot 1 for Standard Support includes supported accommodation for adults with severe mental illness, and Lot 2 for Enhanced Support targets adults with complex needs. The contracting opportunity mainly targets the Yorkshire and the Humber region and is classified under industry category CPV 85000000.

This upcoming tender process presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in health and social care services, particularly those experienced in mental health care provision. Companies that are small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or volunteer community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly suitable to engage in this tender, as indicated by their eligibility in the procurement documents. With demand for more inclusive and attentive mental health services rising, this tender could be a profitable venture for businesses that can deliver comprehensive support and accommodation to adults facing severe mental health challenges.
