Notice Description

As part of its commitment to become carbon neutral by 2030, the Client is keen to promote the use of renewable energy and low carbon technologies within the city. The installation of generation assets and energy storage will contribute to the city's decarbonisation ambition and will increase renewable energy generation, decrease reliance on power from centralised production, increase local energy security and resilience and provide the Client with a long-term low carbon revenue source. This project will form part of a wider scheme of energy decarbonisation within the City and is a key element of the City Plan, and 2030 Carbon Neutral Strategy. The Client intends to appoint a Consultant Contractor to undertake appropriate ground investigation surveys and associated works relevant to the future installation of solar ground mount systems. The objectives of the works and study are to: * Perform appropriate investigations and laboratory analysis as detailed within the scope of works * To report and advise upon the investigation results concerning the development of solar ground mounted solar systems to the sites The appointed Contractor will be required to undertake the following works: Former landfill Site Area (Bransholme Solar Farm Site Outline 1) - On site works/ laboratory analysis Phase 1 * Desk Study, Site Walk over and creation of a conceptual model with findings used to assist the design of the intrusive investigation works (Phase 2) in accordance with LCRM (Land Contamination Risk Management) guidance published by the Environment Agency. Reference should also be made to the Development on Land Affected by Contamination- Technical Guidance for Developers, Landowners and Consultants, Version 11.2- June 2020 by the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Pollution Advisory Group (appended within the Pre-Construction Information Pack). Following the outcome of Phase 1 Ground Investigation Studies, the Contractor must seek permission from Client to proceed to Phase 2.
