P5521 Materials Sorting Facility (MRF) Services Contract

Notice Description

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of Materials Sorting (MRF) Services to sort co-mingled dry recyclable materials and sell on the segregated materials for re-processing. The Council is looking for owners and/or operators with the relevant experience to provide a Materials Recovery Facility sorting capacity to the Borough. This contract covers co-mingled dry recyclable material collected from households, businesses and bring sites. The services include accepting recyclable materials delivered by Tower Hamlets, sorting through a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), onward sale of segregated material for reprocessing and ensuring residues are disposed of in accordance with regulations in force at any given time. Please note that the net worth of the contract maybe affected upwards or downwards by the changes in the values of secondary material prices throughout the duration of the contract. The initial contract period is 36 months with a possibility of 3 x 12 month extensions. The anticipated contract start date is 1st April 2020. Additional Information: The London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) is seeking expressions of interest from interested organisations for the above services and / or goods. Organisations wishing to express their interest are requested to register on the London Tenders Portal (www.londontenders.org) where the opportunity documentation will be available for download. You will be required to complete an online questionnaire. Organisations must ensure that access to the system is available to their representatives dealing with the contract and that this contact is updated as and when required. The council will not be liable for the lack of delegated access within the organisation and will not send any documentation regarding the opportunity, which shall be exclusively available through the portal. Suppliers are responsible for allowing sufficient time to submit their Application.
